Chief Strategic Officer, China Operations
Bei Zhang is the Chief Strategic Officer for China Operations at Chubb Group, a position she has held since January 2023. In this capacity, she oversees Chubb’s investments and operations in China. Additionally, Ms. Zhang serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Huatai Insurance Group since April 2023, the Chairperson of Chubb Insurance (China) Company Limited since March 2016, and the Chairperson of Huatai Life Insurance Company since August 2024. She acts as Chubb’s primary communications liaison, managing the relationship between Chubb and Huatai, and supports Chubb’s interactions with insurance regulators, government institutions and other stakeholders in China.
Ms. Zhang joined ACE in 2002 as the Chief Representative in China, following ACE's acquisition of a strategic stake in Huatai.
Before her tenure at ACE and Huatai, Ms. Zhang held various positions including Deputy Director at the Shanghai Zhangjiang Group and Deputy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. She also spent two years as an attaché and third secretary at China’s embassy in Lusaka, Zambia.
Ms. Zhang earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Research and Diplomacy from the Foreign Affairs College of China and an EMBA from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).
