Chubb Opens New Philadelphia Office Building at 2000 Arch Street

Ribbon-cutting ceremony marks the company’s $380 million investment in Center City and a new workplace for nearly 3,000 employees
Ribbon-cutting ceremony for new Philadelphia office building

Chubb (NYSE: CB) celebrated the grand opening of its new office building at 2000 Arch Street on Monday, May 11, 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker,  Secretary Rick Siger, Community and Economic Development, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Juan Luis Ortega, Executive Vice President, Chubb Group, President, North America Insurance, and key project partners. The new building, constructed from the ground up, marks one of the largest private investments in Center City Philadelphia in recent years.

The 18-floor, 438,000-rentable-square-foot, LEED Platinum-certified building represents a $380 million investment in the city and will serve as a workplace for nearly 3,000 Chubb employees. The opening reinforces Chubb’s deep, centuries-long ties to Philadelphia, where its oldest subsidiary, the Insurance Company of North America, was founded in 1792 near Independence Hall as the nation’s first stock insurance company.

“Chubb’s new office tower is more than just a major investment in Philadelphia — it’s a powerful vote of confidence in Pennsylvania’s future,” said Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. “This $380 million project is creating opportunity, supporting thousands of workers, and helping strengthen one of the most important business corridors in the nation. My Administration is committed to making Pennsylvania the best place to live, work, and grow a business, and investments like this show that our strategy is delivering results for communities across the Commonwealth.”

“From day one, our administration has made clear that Philadelphia is open for business and ready to compete on a global stage,” said Mayor Cherelle L. Parker. “This new office tower reflects strong confidence in Philadelphia as a world-class place to live, work, and grow. Our city offers the talent, location, affordability, and skilled workforce companies need to succeed. We thank Chubb for its continued investment in Philadelphia.”

“Today’s celebration is an exciting milestone for Chubb, the City of Philadelphia, and the entire Commonwealth,” said Secretary Siger. “Chubb’s major investment in Philadelphia further strengthens the City’s dynamic economy. It also underscores Pennsylvania’s exceptional workforce, competitive business environment, and everything we have to offer to growing companies here in the Commonwealth.”

"American insurance was born in Philadelphia in 1792, and with 2000 Arch Street we are building the insurance company of the future in the same city where the industry began," said Ortega. "This building will be the workplace for thousands of our colleagues in some of the most important roles of the future, and another cornerstone of Chubb innovation for years to come."

Following the ceremony, members of the media joined Bryce Graham, Chubb’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Executive Officer, and Robert Zuritsky, CEO of Parkway Corporation, for a tour of the new building, concluding on the ninth-floor terrace overlooking the city.

The building was designed by L2P/Stantec, developed in partnership with Parkway Corporation, and built by Turner Construction. The construction phase, which began in February 2023, supported hundreds of jobs from local trade unions. Structural completion was reached in October 2024, and Chubb signage was installed atop the building in February 2025.

The grand opening comes during a landmark year for Philadelphia, which is hosting numerous significant sporting and cultural events tied to the U.S. Semiquincentennial (America 250).
